Privacy policy
Generated bubble sheets, test structures, answer keys and camera-graded sheets are processed 100% client-side in your browser and never uploaded by the tools. There are no accounts. Informational pages use Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics for usage analytics and may use cookies.
Information we do not collect
- No accounts. Nothing on this site requires signing in, so we hold no passwords and no list of users.
- Nothing from the tools. The generator, grade calculator, timer and camera grader process your working data locally. The only form on the site that sends anything is the report form on the contact page, and only when you press Send; it is described below.
- No uploaded documents. The generator builds PDFs inside your browser. Your question count, title, choice set and layout never leave your device. The same is true of a class roster, an answer key, and photos opened in the camera grader.
- Cookies and analytics. Our tool code sets no cookies. Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics on informational pages may use cookies to connect visits and sessions; conditional advertising is described below.
What happens when you download a sheet
The sheets are ordinary static files. Requesting one is a normal file download, and your browser will tell our host which file you asked for — the same as requesting any image. Analytics on informational pages may also record download-link clicks and associate them with a browser identifier.
Analytics
Cloudflare Web Analytics is disabled in this build. Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics on informational pages are described below.
Analytics: Microsoft Clarity
We use Microsoft Clarity on informational pages to understand navigation through heatmaps and session telemetry, including clicks, scrolling and device or browser information. Clarity masks sensitive content, but this does not make every request anonymous: Microsoft receives connection information such as your IP address and may use cookies and similar identifiers to associate visits. Heatmaps summarize visitor interactions.
Clarity is not loaded on the generator, tool pages or contact page, so session capture cannot read generated sheets, test structures, answer keys, rosters, grading photos or contact messages there. Blocking Clarity does not affect any tool or download. See Clarity cookies, content masking and the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Analytics: Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) on informational pages to measure visits and interactions. It uses first-party cookies to distinguish visitors and sessions and collects information about page URLs, referring pages, interactions, and your browser and device. Your browser contacts Google to send these measurements.
Google Analytics is not loaded on the generator, tool pages or contact page. We do not send it generated sheets, test structures, answer keys, rosters, grading photos or contact messages. Blocking Google Analytics does not affect any tool or download. See Google Analytics data safeguards and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
GA4 uses cookies such as _ga to distinguish visitors and
_ga_<container-id> to maintain session state. Google documents a default
expiration of two years; browser limits and property settings can shorten or change it.
Cookie expiration is separate from how long analytics data is retained in Google's systems.
See GA4 cookie usage.
To stop GA4 from sharing visit activity, you can use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on in a supported browser, or a content blocker. You can also delete cookies through your browser settings. Deleting cookies alone does not stop future analytics requests or cookies. The Google opt-out add-on does not disable Microsoft Clarity or other services.
Analytics currently loads when an informational page opens. This site does not currently provide an on-site analytics consent banner or preference control.
Your light/dark preference
If you switch the site between light and dark mode, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage — a small key held on your own device. It is not a cookie, it is never sent to a server, and its entire contents are the word "light" or the word "dark". If you never touch the switch, nothing is stored and the site uses its default light theme.
You can clear it at any time from your browser's site data settings. The site works identically without it.
Saved templates and saved answer keys
The generator has two buttons that save something in your browser's local storage, and they do it only when you press them: Save to My Templates keeps the layout choices of a sheet (question count, choices, columns, header options), and Save key in this browser keeps a typed answer key together with the size of the sheet it belongs to. Both stay on your own device. Neither is sent to a server, and neither is a cookie. Delete a saved template with the × beside it, or clear the site's data in your browser settings to remove everything.
A class roster pasted or opened in the generator, and any photo you take or open in the camera grader, are used inside the page while it is open and are not saved anywhere. Closing or reloading the tab discards them. The camera grader asks your browser for permission to use the camera only after you press Start camera, shows the video on your screen, and switches the camera off when you stop it, hide the tab or leave the page. The video is not recorded or transmitted, and photos and grades are never uploaded or stored. The only thing it can keep is an answer key you choose to save, in your own browser's local storage. The setup link the generator makes holds layout choices only: no answer key, no roster and no student names.
Reports, suggestions and questions (the contact form)
If you use the form on the contact page, what you type is sent to us when you press Send, and not before. That is your name, your email address, your role, a title and a description, and, if you choose to add them, device details (filled in from your browser, and editable), steps to reproduce, a short extra note, and up to three screenshots. A screenshot is shrunk in your browser to a WebP picture under 300 KB before it is sent, so the original, whatever its size, never leaves your device. Video and PDFs are not accepted. We also keep the address of the page you came from, if it was a page on this site.
We use it to answer you and to fix or improve the site, and for nothing else. A report is saved in a database (Cloudflare D1) and any screenshots in private storage (Cloudflare R2, set up with a Western North America location hint) on our hosting account, and an email alert is sent through Resend to our support inbox, which is hosted by Zoho Mail. Each of those services handles the data under its own privacy policy. Nothing is sold, shared for advertising or added to a mailing list, and the form sets no cookies.
To limit abuse, the form has three guards. First, a hidden field that people never see. Second, a security check from Cloudflare Turnstile, which is loaded on the contact page only and nowhere else on this site. It runs in your browser and tells Cloudflare whether you are a person; Cloudflare's own documentation says it uses signals such as your IP address, browser and connection details for that, and that it does not use cookies for it, under Cloudflare's Turnstile privacy policy. The form cannot be sent until the check passes. Third, a limit of five reports per email address and five per connection in any 24 hours: with each report we save the email you entered (which we need to reply anyway) and a one-way hash of your connection's address, a scrambled code from which the address itself cannot be read back. The hash is used only to count reports for that limit and is kept with the report, and Cloudflare also counts how many reports come from one connection in a minute.
Please do not put students' names or other personal details in a screenshot or a message. We keep reports for as long as they are useful for fixing and improving the site, then delete them. To have yours deleted sooner, email us the reference you were given (it looks like BST-2026-K7M4XQ) and we will remove the report and its attachments.
Server logs
Like any website, the host serving these pages will record ordinary request information — IP address, timestamp, page requested — because that is how web servers work and how abuse gets stopped. We do not use those logs to identify or profile visitors.
Advertising
This site shows no advertising. The page templates keep a reserved, switched-off place for ads; while it is off, nothing is displayed, no advertising script is loaded and no advertising network is contacted.
If advertising is ever enabled, it will be disclosed here first, along with what the ad provider receives. Ad networks typically set their own cookies and receive your IP address and the page you are on, which is a materially different arrangement from the one described above, so it will not happen silently.
Children's privacy
This site is designed for teachers and parents. We do not ask children to submit personal information. Analytics on informational pages operates as described above; we do not use it to determine a visitor's age. If you are a student using the generator, your sheet stays in your browser. Please contact us if you believe a child has submitted personal information.
For guidance on the wider question of student data — including what to keep off an answer sheet — see student data privacy in the classroom. That guide is general information, not legal advice.
Links to other sites
Some pages link to third-party tools and services. Once you follow a link, that site's own privacy policy applies, and we have no control over it. This is worth remembering on the scanner app alternatives page: those are other people's products, and uploading student work to them is a separate decision.
The "Share with fellow teachers" buttons are ordinary links. Nothing is loaded from WhatsApp, Facebook or any other sharing service when the page opens. Analytics on informational pages may record clicks on these links. Following one takes you to that service, whose own policy then applies; the text message button opens your messaging app, and the copy buttons only write the page address to your clipboard.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that reduces privacy, such as different analytics or a new advertising arrangement, the change will be described here before it takes effect.
